CLIENT:
Hancock Iron Ore (formerly Roy Hill)
LOCATION:
Roy Hill Mine
BEC SCOPE:
BEC Engineering was engaged to supply and commission a Train Loadout Exit Profiler for the site’s train loadout facility. The system measures the volume of ore in each wagon as it exits the train loader.
CLIENT OBJECTIVES:
To provide an alternative method of measuring wagon loading volumes due to issues with the existing weighbridge system used to ensure wagons remain within rail tolerance.
CHALLENGES:
The site operates a single train loadout, train and underloader system. As a result, failure of any individual component results in a complete halt to the loading and transport process. Issues with the existing weighbridge created a single point of failure in the loading operation.
OUTCOME:
The BEC system provides volumetric measurement of ore in each wagon as it exits the loader, introducing redundancy to the loading process and supporting continued operation of the train loadout system.
