<p>The role will form part of the core professional group and will contribute strongly to the overall electrical and instrumentation design capability of the team.  The position is project focused to provide engineering design for the mining, minerals processing and utility sectors.</p>
<p>Depending on the project, the scope of work can vary from higher level design to undertaking detailed design for small and large projects.  With projects in the mineral processing or materials handling space, they could include small plant up-grades, new MCC’s and Switchboards, to an entire processing facility.</p>
<p>Responsible for the whole project, you will not only look after design, but also oversee FAT and SAT testing and commissioning.</p>
<p><strong>About You:</strong></p>
<p>With between 3 &#8211; 10 years post-graduation experience, we expect the capability to take on a variety of roles within a project from the design and planning stages right through to finalisation and delivery.</p>
<p>Electrical Engineering qualifications from a recognised tertiary institutions is a minimum, while post graduate qualifications would be an advantage.  Professional recognition from a recognised authority would be a plus.</p>
<p>Experience should have been gained in a consulting environment and include a track record in mineral processing or material handling projects.</p>
<p>Being responsible for the delivery of mineral processing or material handling projects including design (MCC, Switchboards, Schematics, terminations) and design deliverables including cable schedules, equipment specifications, equipment and instrument lists is a given.</p>
<p>Depending on seniority, project tendering, budgeting and equipment evaluation would be preferred.</p>
<p>The ability to work independently with minimal supervision on smaller projects is preferred, however the capacity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on larger projects will be essential.</p>
<p>While BEC Engineering is a consulting firm, site and field experience would be preferred, and a willingness to undertake site visits and participate in on-site commissioning is a requirement.</p>

<p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p>
<p>The role will form part of the core Power Systems engineering group and is focused on providing detailed electrical engineering design for high voltage networks.</p>
<p>Scope of work will include detailed design for high voltage networks, power line design, substation design, protection systems, power system studies and HV submissions.</p>
<p>The application of Power System consulting will focus on upgrades and expansions to mine site, mineral processing and material handling facilities.  While many of our projects are mining sector related, an increasing number of projects involve up-grade of infrastructure (ports and transportation) and utility (water and power) facilities.</p>
<p>Project scale can vary from smaller studies to design of an entire HV network.</p>
<p><strong>About you </strong></p>
<p>Tertiary qualifications in Power System engineering from a recognised institution are essential.  Post graduate qualifications would be a plus.</p>
<p>With between 3 – 10 years experience post graduation, you will have substantial experience in an electrical engineering consulting environment.   Project design experience ideally in minerals processing applications, power generation, power distribution/transmission or the utility sector.   Consulting experience could be combined with field / site experience with an EPCM or an operator.</p>
<p>Experience should have been gained in a mining or mineral processing sectors with reputable organisations.</p>
<p>Excellent communication skills and capacity to work with clients, vendors and colleagues is essential.  This will be combined with a solid customer service mentality.</p>
<p>Depending on experience, it is expected that you will have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and also as part of a multidisciplinary team.  More experienced Engineers will be expected to have substantial project management experience and the capacity to lead a small team or deliver projects within time and budget parameters.</p>
<p>Attitude is key with BEC Engineering, a willingness to learn, take on a challenge with a positive can-do approach is essential.</p>

<p><strong>Skills and Experience:</strong></p>
<p>The experience we are seeking includes the capability to take on a variety of roles within a project from the design and planning stages right through to finalisation and delivery.</p>
<p>Lead Electrical Engineers will have at least 10 years industry experience with a solid track record in the mining and utilities sector.</p>
<p>Your career to date will ideally have included the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Senior Level project design experience in minerals processing applications, power generation, power distribution/ transmission or the utilities sector.</li>
<li>High voltage engineering design.</li>
<li>Experience in a consulting capacity.</li>
<li>Experience with power simulation software.</li>
</ul>
<p>Exceptional technical skills in;</p>
<ul>
<li>Power Simulation Assessments, including load flow, fault level, motor starting and harmonics.</li>
<li>Experience with Regulatory submissions.</li>
<li>Major electrical plant selection and specifications – Transformers, Switchgear, Cables, Motors.</li>
<li>Earth grid design.</li>
<li>HV and LV switchboard design.</li>
<li>Power line design.</li>
<li>Protection systems, device settings, coordination &amp; fault studies.</li>
<li>Testing and Commissioning</li>
<li>Wiring, schematic, and termination diagrams.</li>
</ul>
<p>Will be expected.</p>
<p>You will also be supported to take on challenges and develop your career path working with a team of specialised electrical engineers offering a diverse range of experience.</p>
<p><strong>Key Requirements:</strong></p>
<p>To be successful, you will also have:</p>
<ul>
<li>Electrical Engineering Degree, recognised by Engineers Australia.</li>
<li>A demonstrable positive can-do attitude</li>
<li>Commercial awareness.</li>
<li>Well developed interpersonal and communications skills – written and spoken.</li>
